Let me make this clear for you all: Squid is meant for CACHING.
Mmm, high-performance caching.
HTTP::Proxy gives you total control over your web experience.
If you want speed, cache and some kind of filtering, you can leave the room and continue to use Squid.
If you want TOTAL CONTROL of the web, you can stay a little longer.
